Small Animal Dentistry

The staff and doctors at Animal Care Hospital are passionate about dentistry. Dr. Stephen Galloway is one of the few veterinarians in the world who is both a Fellow of the American Veterinary Dental Academy and a Diplomate of the American Veterinary Dental College in small animal and equine specialties.

There is a difference in the dental care services provided at Animal Care Hospital. We see both routine and referral dental cases and are always happy to spend the extra time to make sure that your pet receives the best veterinary care.  Both Drs. Stephen and Melanie have received extensive training in anesthesia and dentistry.

Periodontal disease is the most common clinical problem in dogs and cats over three years of age.   In addition to bad breath, periodontal disease causes systemic disease such as heart, liver, and kidney infections.  We believe that routine dental exams and professional cleanings are an important part of your pets’ preventative health care program. Pets, like humans, with healthy mouths typically live longer healthier lives.

ACH offers comprehensive dental care for your pet including:

  • Dental cleaning and treatment planning
  • Oral surgery- fracture repair, mass removal,  cleft palate repair, etc
  • Periodontics- treatment of periodontal disease
  • Endodontics- root canal and vital pulp therapy
  • Exodontics- tooth extractions
  • Prosthedontics- Crowns
  • Orthodontic Correction

Read What Our Clients Say

  • "We have been patients of Dr. Galloway for over 12 years and I wouldn't go anywhere else. While we were building a new house in Oakland, we lived in Cordova for over a year and happily drove back to see Dr. Galloway. They are always so good at taking the time to explain things."
