Galloway |
Dr. Stephen Galloway
Dr. Galloway received his Bachelor’s of Science degree from the
United States Military Academy at West Point in 1986 and his
doctorate degree from North Carolina State University College of
Veterinary Medicine in 1996.
Dr. Galloway opened Animal Care Hospital (ACH) in March 2003.
ACH is a mixed animal hospital with a practice focus of veterinary
dentistry. Both equine and small animal patients are seen for
primary dental care and on dental referral from other veterinarians.
Prior to opening ACH, Dr. Galloway practiced in Plainview, TX from
1996-1999, and then provided ambulatory large animal veterinary
services in west Tennessee from May 1999 to March 2003.
Dr. Galloway’s professional interest and area of study is equine dentistry,
and he is currently one of 10
veterinarians nationwide pursuing an equine tract fellowship with
the Academy of Veterinary Dentistry. Dr. Galloway was
appointed to the Dental Education Committee for the American
Association of Equine Practitioner (AAEP) in 2005. He gives
owner and veterinarian level presentations on equine dental topics,
has taught veterinary students at the University of Tennessee and
Mississippi State Colleges of Veterinary Medicine, and has taught
veterinarians at the annual AAEP Wetlabs.
Dr. Galloway is a member of the American Veterinary Medical
Association, the Memphis/Shelby County Veterinary Medical
Association, the American Association of Equine Practitioners, the
American Veterinary Dental Society, the American Endurance Ride
Conference, and is a member at large on the Executive Board of
Tennessee Veterinary Medical Association.

Dr. Galloway received her bachelor of science and doctorate degrees from North Carolina
State University. After
graduation from veterinary school in 1996, she practiced at Acres North Animal Hospital in Lubbock,
Texas for three years, focusing on small animal and avian medicine and surgery.
In 1999 she moved to Tennessee and practiced at Animal Hospital
Raleigh-Bartlett and VetMed of west Tennessee, prior to joining ACH
in 2003,.
Dr. Galloway’s practice focus is small animal dentistry. Her love
of dentistry developed as a result of seeing the dramatic health
benefits that dental care provides. She began specialty
training in 2001, since this field requires specific training in
dental procedures, equipment, and materials, and is currently
pursuing an Academy of Veterinary Dentistry Fellowship. She
has taught dentistry to other veterinarians at the Memphis/Shelby
County VMA annual meeting.
Dr. Galloway is a member of the American Veterinary Medical
Association, the Memphis/Shelby County Veterinary Medical
Association, and the American Veterinary Dental Society. She
is an executive board member for the Memphis/Shelby County
Veterinary Medical Association.
The Galloways live on their family farm with their 3 children
(triplets, a litter), 8 dogs, 2 cats, 4 horses, and 2 goats.
