Animal Care Hospital is a full service hospital providing Fayette County and the Mid-South with state of the art Medical,
Dental and Surgical care. 

Services:

Surgery - We perform most routine surgeries and have a well-equipped modern surgery suite for sterile procedures.  We use the newest and safest anesthetics available.  While anesthetized all patients are monitored by a technician and a multi-modal monitor so that we are award of changes before they become a problem.

     All anesthesia has some risk.  To minimize this we do several things:

         - pre anesthetic testing to screen for underlying disease
         - intravenous catheterization and fluid therapy to provide easy access for drug administration should the need
           arise, and blood pressure management.
         - EKG to evaluate for structural or rhythm problems with the heart.

     Pain management is part of our routine pre-surgical protocol and is not elective.  Pain is best treated before it occurs and all patients are given an injection before surgery and local anesthetics are frequently used to prevent post-op pain.

Radiology - We utilize both traditional and digital radiology for general and dental imaging.

Ultrasound - The Ultrasound allows us to non invasively examine the architecture of internal organs.  We can evaluate the bladder for stones, evaluate pregnancy and look for masses or other problems in the abdomen.

Complete laboratory - In order to get rapid testing feedback, the clinic laboratory can perform blood counts, blood gas & chemistry analysis, fecal & urine analysis, heartworm tests, and selected viral tests. Tests not routinely performed are sent to an outside laboratory, with results usually available the next day.
