accept the following payment methods: Cash, Check, Visa, and Mastercard and
CareCredit (a medical credit card that can be applied
for at our office or online at

Euthanasia Policy:
The Veterinarians at ACH performs
euthanasia only for the purpose of "Relieving Animal Suffering."
Euthanasia will not be performed on healthy animals nor for the
convenience of irresponsible owners. The following are conditions
that may warrant euthanasia:
1. Patients diagnosed by the
Attending Veterinarian with a Terminal Illness. Only the
attending veterinarian can make a diagnosis after examination (and
sometimes diagnostic testing).
2. Patients with Chronically
Debilitating Illnesses that minimizes the patient’s
Quality of Life or that has a poor prognosis for survival.
Diagnosis of a Chronically Debilitating Illness usually implies an
established Veterinarian-Patient-Client Relationship.
3. Livestock
with severe illness which renders individual treatment uneconomical
or Livestock with
illness that are sacrificed for necropsy in order to diagnose a herd
disease.
Prescription Policy:
Prescription drugs, such as
antibiotics, anesthetics, and anti-inflammatories, are drugs which
"Federal law restricts to the use by or on the order of a licensed
veterinarian." FDA controls their use because they have the
potential to cause harm if used inappropriately. State law further
restricts the FDA definition by allowing veterinarians to prescribe
drugs only to patients in which a Client-Patient-Veterinarian
relationship has been established. This means that it is illegal
for a veterinarian to prescribe a drug to an animal unless he/she
has first examined the animal and established a diagnose. |
